FCT UBEB PRIMARY SCHOOLS FLY HIGH IN COMPETITIONS.

The LEA WUSE 1 ,Zone 2 brought honour to the Board by clinching first place in an Inter Quiz and Spelling ‘B' Contest organized by African Scholars Care International and Junior Chartered International( JCI.) The former is dedicated to the promotion of education in Africa and beyond while the later is propelled by the passion for improving Nigeria schools through funding solutions to boost innovation and value reorientation amongst pupils.
The participants comprise two pupils from 20 Public Primary schools in the territory.
It should be noted that LEA Primary School Gwarinpa 2 emerged second in the spelling category organized by JCI.
LEA Padna took the second position in the Quiz Challenge while LEA WUSE 3 , Zone 5 also known as Pilot Science Primary School came third in same Quiz.
The winners were presented with gifts, trophy and handsome reward of monies.
The first position ,LEA Wuse I, zone 2 smiled home with a golden trophy and a cheque of N500,000. The second and third positions were each presented with cheques of N200,000.
According to Amb. Blessing B. Jegede, 2024 President, JCI, Abuja , the competition aims at enhancing the communication and public speaking skills and confidence of school pupils in addition to promoting reading culture and ability to thrive under pressure.
The two competitions were conducted in June,2024.
The Spelling contest took place at Shoprite Wuse Zone 5 , Dalaba street Wadat House Abuja.
While the Quiz Component held at Merit House, Abuja which the leader said was in commemoration of the International Day of the African Child.
In attendance at the event,were Alhaji Kolawole Rabiu, Permanent Secretary, FCT Women Affairs and Mrs Irene Isuha Okafor, Deputy Director , Cultural and Creative Arts,FCT UBEB among other personalities.
It was a celebration galores at the Board when the pupils came with their Head teachers and school representatives to make presentations of their awards to the Acting Executive Chairman,Dr. Alhassan Sule at the Board's headquarters.
In his congratulatory message to the pupils during the presentations, the Acting Executive Chairman, FCT Universal Basic Education Board, commended the pupils for their outstanding performances . He enjoined them to strive for excellence always and use the knowledge garnered to improve their educational development.
The Head teacher of LEA WUSE 1,’Zone 2,Hajiya Rukaiyat Ahmed led her champions.
