FCT UBEB Boss Commissions Facilities At Chinese Assisted School Nyanya

The Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board, (FCT-UBEB ), Acting Chairman, Dr. Alhassan Sule, has commissioned the Upgraded School facilities at Chinese Assisted Model Primary School Nyanya, a suburb of Abuja.

Speaking during the event, the UBEB Chairman, said that Education is a tool for socio-economic and Educational development of any society.

Dr.Sule, insisted that

through the classroom, one is able to understand,develop and explore his or her potentials.

He noted that FCT is a unique place being the centre of unity and the Capital of the most populous black nation on earth, it attracts influx of people which consequently overstretched schools facilities.

He stated that FCT Administration under the leadership of the Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has embarked on whole school renovation and construction of classrooms across the Territory.

According to him, the project will enable FCT-UBEB schools to compete favourably within best global practices.

Dr.Sule who expressed the Administration’s gratitude to the Embassy of China over the gesture commended the Chinese government for the provision of learning instruments, materials and upgrade of facilities in the FCT.

He assured that the Board will do all within its powers to provide a conducive teaching and learning environment for pupils across the Territory.The Chairman, however, appealed to parents and the public to ensure that all hands are on deck to guarantee access to the compulsory and free Basic Education.

He also expressed his desire for the school to have Smart Education where every learner will receive instruction through a digital platform.

In his remarks, Mr. Zhou Hao, Managing Director, China Road and Bridge Corporation Nigeria, (CRBC), expressed his delight of the programme and the passion to contribute towards enhancing better educational environment at the China – assisted Model Primary School under the leadership and support of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria.

He revealed that the replacement and repair and other feasible tasks were executed by his team while the children were on holiday.

The Corporation also gave out stationeries ranging from note books , pencils, erasers, rulers and sporting equipment for the pupils to aid them in classwork and extracurricular activities.

Hao said that he believes that there is a common ground that transcends ethnicity, nationality, among people of different World and that is – children, the future hope of the world.

He averred that children represents the future expectations and aspirations and their welfare should be of paramount importance.

He added that improving the children educational conditions and environment is a shared goal for all sectors in Nigeria and China.

Hao maintained that as Chinese Company in Nigeria, it is ready to contribute its quota to the educational development in Nigeria.

He reiterated the commitment of his corporation in the maintenance of the initiative of sharing Chinese Harmony and performing Nigeria – China Symphony.

Also speaking at the occasion, Mr. Zhang Yi, Charge d’ affaires of the Chinese Embassy said it was his second time in the school with another Chinese company renovating the school.

He disclosed that the classrooms were better and learner friendly.

Yi expressed joy that Chinese Embassy is joining hands to make the children happy through the provision of learning materials.

The Charge d’ Affaires pointed out that the excellent cooperation between China and Nigeria has made this possible.

He hoped that that one day the children will be able to see the World by visiting China; saying that four Chinese Companies are making contributions to renovate the school.

Yi prayed that more Chinese companies will join in doing so.

The Charge d’ Affaires enjoined the children to make the best use of the facilities provided and prayed that children will continue to promote the relationship between China and Nigeria in the nearest future.
