FCTUBEB Holds 66th Management Meeting, Chairman Urges Commitment

The Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board (FCTUBEB) convened its 66th management meeting today, with Acting Executive Chairman, Dr. Alhassan Sule, commending the managers for their dedication to fulfilling the Board’s mandate.

Dr. Sule emphasized that free and compulsory basic education for Nigerian children remains a presidential priority. He urged the managers to uphold their responsibilities to ensure the effective realization of this agenda, particularly in the FCT.

He also informed them about the plans of the new Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to use the FCT and four other states as reference points, highlighting the FCT’s significance as the center of governance. He stressed that the Board must set a high standard, as whatever is observed in the FCT is expected to be exemplary.

To enhance operational efficiency, Dr. Sule directed that the Board’s data bank be updated immediately to ensure that all necessary information is readily available for UBEC. Additionally, he issued a strict warning against unauthorized use of the Board’s facilities, stating that such usage must receive his explicit approval.

During the meeting, departmental managers provided updates on their respective activities, discussing ongoing projects and future plans aimed at improving basic education in the FCT.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from the Board’s management to work diligently in advancing the goals of Universal Basic Education in the territory.
