Education the only platform that guarantees a safer society - FCT UBEB BOSS

The Acting Executive Chairman, FCT UBEB, Dr. Alhassan Sule has emphasized on the importance of Education as the only platform that can promote a better and safer society.

The Acting Chairman stated this during Management of the Board briefings with the FCT Minister of state, Dr.Mariya Mahmud.

He reeled out the vision ,mission and achievements of the Board as well as her challenges.

The Chairman told the Minister that in additional to teaching and learning the, children are also engaged in extracurricular activities such as sports for their total education.

In her response, the FCT Minister of State stated that she was glad that FCT is in the forefront in educational development and would like to motivate the teachers to do more. She stressed on girl- child Education and the need to strengthen our public schools being a product of one herself.

On the challenges, she maintained there were so many ways that we could raise intervention and further more there is need to prioritize our needs.She also called for stakeholders collaborations. Dr Mahmud advised the Board's management to have good relationship with them as everybody has a role to play.

Dr. Mahmud assured the management that consultants will be engaged as the need arises. She also reiterated that Education is the bedrock of any meaningful development and stakeholders involvement is an important factor that should not be neglected. By Patience Ossai.
