e-Learning Platform

FCT Universal Basic Education Board Abuja is the first to create a plat form for e-learning in the whole of West Africa @ JSS Jabi Abuja.

As at 2009/2010 Academic Session, FCT Universal Basic Education Board Abuja has 86 Primary and Junior Secondary Schools with ICT facilities. Out of which a total of 47 are e-learning Centres and 24 and 15 Schools (Primary and JSS) respectively has other ICT facilities 

Since the inception of e-learning in 2007, 379 teachers had been trained for the purpose. and more are expected to be trained this year.

The 47 Junior Secondary Schools are already in e-learning platform.

FCT Universal Education Board Abuja in his effort to boost ICT in FCT Schools has made the teaching and learning of Computer studies compulsory in all the Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in FCT.

The Management is also making effort to kick start e-learning plat form in Primary schools.

More Junior Secondary Schools will soon be on e-learning plat form.

Other Recent Achievements

The Board is happy to inform you of her modest achievements in the year under review. At the Best performance award on FGN - UBE Programme Implementation for two consecutive times, we maintained our lead of the first position in the NorthCentral Zone for the year 2005/2006 and 2007/2008. Also the Board won the fifth position nationally for the 2007/2008 award

Junior Secondary School Jikwoyi has been making FCT, Nigeria and the world at large proud for coming first in all competitions organized by the Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE). The School is now three times world champion (Ukraine 2007, Nigeria 2008 and Brazil 2009).

Science Primary school Gwagwalada and JSS Yangoji made Nigeria great by clinching for the award of the "Best Country in Innovation" at the Science Project Exhibition in Taipei , Taiwan 2009.

It will also interest you to know that October 2010, FCT Teachers at the basic education level got six out of the seven awards won by FCT Teachers during President's Teachers and Schools Excellence Award for 2009. Four of these awards were first position awards.

Overall best in Projects and Mathematics for Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in Nigeria for 2010 Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) competition.

The first State to implement the Teachers Salary Scale (TSS) IN Nigeria w.e.f. 1st January, 2009.
Regular Promotion of Staff.

Implementation of 8% and 12% Urban and Rural Teachers allowances respectively w.e.f 2008 to date.

Progressive improvement on the performance of students in Junior Schools Certificate Examination results over the years from 2007/2008 - 63%, 2008/2009 - 63%, 2009/2010 - 76% (Best resit examinations).

In the recently concluded JETS Competitions in Katsina, our students clinched the first position in many areas and were given 8 Medals: 6 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze.
